Plants annual, 1–8 dm.

Leaves leaflets lanceolate-oblong, oblanceolate, or obovate, 7–30 × 2–14 mm; stipules lanceolate-subulate to setaceous, margins subentire, rarely entire or toothed at bases.

Inflorescences 10–50-flowered; pedicels 0.5–0.8 mm.

Flowers calyx tubes 0.6–0.8 mm, teeth 0.5–0.7 mm, triangular; corollas yellow, white when dried, 1.5–3 mm, banners ? wings.

Fruits 1.5–4 mm, reticulate-veined.

2n=16.

Ballast, waste ground, roadsides. Flowering May–Sep. 0–1300 m. Est, WV. CA, ID, NV, WA; nearly worldwide. Exotic.
