Plants acaulescent.

Roots taproots elongate.

Stems absent; pseudoscapes 1–2 cm.

Basal leaves densely hirsutulous, pubescent, or puberulent; secondary leaflets pinnate; tertiaries pinnatifid (2–8-lobed); ultimate apical lobes 1–2 × 0.3–0.8 mm, tips acute, subacute, mucronulate.

Cauline leaves 0.

Inflorescences peduncles 1–2, 3–6 cm, hirsutulous, pubescent, or puberulent; rays 2–6, 1–4 cm, sparsely to moderately hirsutulous or puberulent; involucel bractlets, linear or lanceolate, 2–4 × 0.5–0.8 mm, glabrate, hirsutulous or puberulent, margins scarious; pedicels 3–5 mm.

Flowers petals ciliate-margined; anthers yellow or purplish.

Fruits elliptic or suborbicular, 6–11 mm; body 3–4 mm wide; wings 1–2 mm.

2n=22.

Slopes, flats, meadows. Flowering Apr–Jun. 1000–1200 m. Owy. CA, NV; southeast to UT. Native.
